食べ物のカタカナ

食べ物が大好きですから、一緒に食べ物のカタカナをみます！

Since some Chinese words, especially words about food, herbs and animals are hard to write and read, they are often written in Katakana, which sounds like the pronounciation in Chinese. Here are some examples:

ラーメン(ramen), it's 拉面 in simplified Chinese(拉麺in traditional Chinese). Since it's hard to write, it is simplified as Katakana. Here is the magic of cooking authentic ramen~~take a look!



シュウマイ(shuumai)is 烧卖 in Chinese. I think it's translated into Katakana not only because it's simpler, but also for pronounciation convenience. BTW, シュウマイは、元々点心ですから、広東料理の店が美味しいです!




ホイコーロー(double cooked pork) is 回锅肉 in Chinese.　からいですげど、超おいしいよ！
